Launching a New Nonprofit Organization: Your Road Map to Resources

It’s not easy to launch nonprofits. They’re often difficult to fund since turning a profit is not their first priority.

You need to know where to go to find the resources you’ll desperately need along the way. The internet is full of numerous resources, but some of them will be dead-ends. One of the best places to start is the Foundation Center’s website, which has a robust database of philanthropic endeavors worldwide.

Do your market research first to make sure another organization doesn’t already exist in the same niche you’re trying to fill. If a similar organization already exists, spend some time working for them to gain experience before launching your own nonprofit to fill in the gaps.

Nonprofits must be incorporated the same way corporations are. Too many nonprofits become passion projects that can’t support anyone’s salary and aren’t self-sustaining.
