Duties of a Bookkeeper

Bookkeepers help small businesses keep track of their transactions and prepare a basic financial statement, in addition to paying their bills and their employees. They get involved in the collections process as well.

Bookkeepers usually have both educational and work experience to help them understand tasks like posting journal entries, posting to ledgers, and closing each month.

For businesses that are fairly small in terms of number of transactions, and not very complex in terms of types of transactions, using a bookkeeper can be very helpful.
